HON. ADIJAT DUMPS APC FOR PDP IN OGUN

A lawmaker with Ogun State House of Assembly and staunch member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) Hon AdijatAdeleye-Oladapo on Monday dumped the party to join Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ahead of the 2015 general elections.

The two-time female lawmaker representing Ifo II, state constituency, said her decision to quit APC was linked to alleged bad governance by the state governor, Senator IbikunleAmosun, and polarization of the party. She also used the occasion to publicly announce her intention to the electorate to contest for Federal House of Representatives from ofIfo/Ewekoro Federal constituency under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Adeleye further noted that, the troubled APC failed to learn from the loss of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) during the 2011 crisis, stressing that the party has been turned to personal affairs.
Her words, "What we were taught is party politics and party supremacy, but a situation where party politics now becomes personal politics."

She added, "The party is factionalised, we had two congresses, there is no respect for the party. It is just like what happened to the PDP in 2011 in the state, but it is highly unfortunate that the leadership of APC did not learn from the PDP crisis."
